Contract Psychologist


Registered Psychologist or Provisional Psychologist - Contract Positions

We are looking for two Registered (or Provisional*) Psychologists with training and experience in behavioural, cognitive, and cognitive-behavioural therapies and/or trained and experienced in Psychoeducational Assessment. Contract positions are available for part-time hours in our idyllic private practice setting.

At Little Oaks we specialize in working with children, youth, and young adults for assessment and treatment of: learning, ADHD, complex behaviour problems, and anxiety/mood. We strive to foster each client’s strengths to help them grow to their greatest potential.

Applicant requirements: 

  • Minimum of a Masters degree in school, counselling, or clinical psychology

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical counselling experience and/or assessment experience

  • College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) registration (provisional or registered); *Provisional psychologists will be considered with appropriate supervision already established

  • Professional liability insurance, criminal record check, and child sector check 

  • Experience offering individual counselling and/or family therapy within a private practice setting an asset

  • Experience offering assessment services within a private practice setting an asset

  • For counselling role: Strong therapy skills (Capacity to deliver a range of therapies; Preferred modalities include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Parent training, Play Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and/or Psychoeducational approaches)

  • For assessment role: Strong testing and interpretation skills. Well written and capable of working independently, though willing to consult and collaborate. Experience with Wechsler materials, social emotional scales, and behaviour profiles a must. Experience with ADHD assessment, personality assessment, and assessment for university purposes an asset. 

  • Experience with young adults is an asset

  • Experience with parent training and behavioural principals is an asset

The ideal person will have a professional yet down-to-earth attitude; the ability to build rapport with children and youth, as well as their parents; and should be organized, responsible, have strong communication, and clear and concise writing abilities (for assessment position).

Part-time and work-from-home opportunity available!

Little Oaks is recruiting for the position of Part-time Receptionist/ Intake Clinician. The position will serve as receptionist for incoming telephone inquiries. Requires general knowledge and understanding of the operations of the Little Oaks clinic, services offered, and appropriate referrals to internal staff/contractors as well as external services where appropriate. Client care and support are of top priority. Duties also include verifying insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, and related data input. Hours are flexible and will be discussed based on applicant and clinic needs for work-from-home opportunity (in-office opportunity may include evenings and Saturday mornings).

This is a part-time position with up to 10-15 hours per week. 

Applicant requirements:

  • 1-2 years post-secondary training/education (e.g., social sciences, human resources, communications, MOA training, etc.) or equivalent experience is preferred. High School Diploma is required.

  • Experience working in a medical office setting is an asset

  • Proficient clerical and data entry skills are essential

  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer software is essential

  • Able to multi-task, and be organized, team-oriented, positive, well-spoken, friendly, and tech-savvy

  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience answering phones and working with online databases and scheduling systems an asset

  • Experience working in an office setting an asset

  • Experience handling private client information an asset
