YOU'RE IN GREAT HANDS
We make sure all our clients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first visit, a psychologist will interview you about your main concerns and take some history information. By the end of the first appointment, you and your psychologist will have decided on a plan of action, with specific next steps and strategies for how to move forward. Online ADHD coaching and learning strategies are also available.
Note: Children under age 12 do not need to attend the first interview.
For your first assessment appointment:
If you are booked for a psychoeducational assessment, please bring any report cards and previous assessment reports (e.g., speech and language, occupational therapy, psychological). This information is to help us understand your concern.
Typically, you will be provided with a suggested plan, cost estimate, and options of how to proceed, at the first appointment. However, the process of accessing support is dynamic and changes somewhat depending on each individual case. We will break it down for you and our goal is for you to leave our office feeling like you have a clear plan.
Many insurance companies provide coverage for psychological services. Coverage typically includes: a specified dollar amount or specified number of hours for psychological services for each family member.
Blue Cross coverage allows us to offer direct billing for psychology services.
CLIENTS OFTEN MOVE FROM ONE SERVICE TO ANOTHER. YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT MAY START WITH EITHER SERVICE.
WE WILL HELP YOU MAKE A PLAN AND DETERMINE WHAT SERVICE MIGHT BE BEST.
You are never obligated to continue services at any stage. This is true of all psychological services. Even when you consent to a process, you always have the right to withdraw consent. Some ethical guidelines apply here and will be discussed with you at your first appointment.
