About Sarah Piers
Registered Provisional Psychologist | Counselling
Sarah completed her Master of Counselling at City University, following her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Grant MacEwan University. She is currently designated as a Mental Health Therapist and is working toward her Registered Provisional Psychologist designation, anticipated in November/December 2025. With over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families, Sarah has worked across a range of settings, including schools, counselling centres, and home-based services, to foster emotional and behavioural growth.
Sarah is passionate about helping children and families build resilience through developing emotional literacy, self-regulation, problem-solving skills, and meaningful connections. She supports clients in enhancing coping skills, understanding behaviour, and strengthening relationships. Her work includes supporting individuals and families navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and other developmental delays. In addition to working directly with children and youth, Sarah partners with parents to build capacity through coaching and education, helping them better understand and respond to their child’s needs.
Sarah’s counselling approach is person-centred, providing a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can grow and thrive. She draws from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), play-based interventions, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Sarah primarily works with children and families seeking support to promote emotional well-being and strengthen family relationships.
