About Tori Mackie
Mental Health Therapist | Counselling
Tori completed her Bachelor of Arts specializing in Psychology at the University of Alberta and her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University while she held multiple positions at Little Oaks Psychology. Her experience as a Psychological Assistant and Intake Clinician provided her with irreplaceable time spent with clients, supporting them with their questions, concerns and any worries they had about the process of psychological assessment and counselling. Now, Tori supports clients using her natural ability to connect with people she fostered in her previous positions, and using the clinical knowledge she gained from her schooling.
Tori currently works with clients aged 13 and up to support them with a wide range of concerns. She is particularly passionate about helping individuals foster self-compassion and rediscover how to use their strengths to move them forward. No matter what transition a client is experiencing, whether it be in their life stage, mental health, relationships or other areas, Tori acts as a companion during the journey providing support, strategies and alternative perspectives.
She takes a person-centred approach while drawing on cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, and solution focused therapies to guide the interventions she uses with clients. At the root of her support is unconditional acceptance, cultural humility and neurodiversity affirming beliefs that help her to create a safe space for anyone and everyone to seek a path forward toward improved mental health and healing.
