About Jessica Predy
Certified Recreation Therapist (RecT)
As a Certified Recreation Therapist, Jessica helps clients connect Mind-Body promoting wholistic wellness. She completed her BA in Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Lethbridge and is currently working toward achieving her national certification. Her diverse experience comes from work within Recovery Alberta, providing recreational therapy programming for youth and adults living with complex mental health needs as well as individuals in conflict with the justice system. In addition to her experience in public health, Jessica fosters a love of continual learning and understanding of the multifaceted needs of people in her community through her ongoing work with the Faculty of Research and Development at NorQuest College.
“I find so much joy in creating opportunities for individuals to discover strengths in themselves that they didn’t recognize before. I truly believe that disability only occurs when there is a mismatch in adaptivity, and when we collaborate to find meaningful modifications that highlight our abilities, amazing things can happen!”
Jessica enjoys bringing creativity and playfulness into her practice; ensuring that her interventions keep the individual at the very center of any plan. Utilizing extensive knowledge of local resources and a range of modalities, her leisure-focused interventions seek to empower individuals to cultivate a leisure lifestyle that works best for them, while also prioritizing a neurodiversity affirming approach.
“Everyone is different - what they like and don’t like, what kind of supports they have, or how their culture and spirituality impact the way they engage with their community. No one treatment should look the same because no one person is the same.”
