As parents we come to realise that there are times when we need the help of our network. When the family and friends network isn’t quite enough, the team at Little Oaks Psychology is here for you. We work from a behavioural and child focused vision of optimistic parenting. Our team is specially trained in developmental and cognitive psychology, parenting, and behaviourism. Tying in attachment approaches and family-centred practice, we are often able to help parents address their most challenging behavioural concerns within a few sessions. We are experts in ADHD, spectrum disorders, and complex behaviour/family challenges.

Learning specialists help to improve your child’s homework experience as well as your own.

Unique learning needs are directly supported via online/phone sessions in addition to parental training for continuity of supports.

Behaviour problems may be related to a number of factors.

We will work to determine possible causes, underlying issues, and functions of behaviour to help manage even complex behavioural challenges.

What to expect from an initial consultation appointment:

  1. First Appointment - your clinician will listen to your reason for coming in and ask you a series of questions to gain insight into the main problem. Depending on the concerns identified, the psychologist will likely provide some strategies at this session. By the end of the first appointment you will make a plan together about how to proceed.

  2. Additional Appointments - depending on the main concern, additional appointments may be scheduled, including assessment sessions as needed. We always like to see our clients through the presenting concern. Our goal is to help you in as little time as we can manage and to provide excellent resources and support to help you move forward in your journey.
