Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). A Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) title is not legally defined or restricted in the Health Professions Act of Alberta, individuals treated by CCC's have certain guarantees that their clinician has met, and continues to maintain a certain level of professional training and ongoing education.

The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) established the Canadian Counselling Certification (CCC) program in 1986.  Although not a regulatory board (like the College of Alberta Psychologists or the College of Alberta Social Workers), the CCPA maintains the right to self-regulate, including certifying, advising and disciplining its members on matters of professional conduct.  This means that individuals who hold a CCC designation must meet certain educational, ethical, and practice standards.

Only individuals who have achieved Certified Canadian Counsellor certification are permitted to use the title CCC in their notes, letters, and reports. A CCC must hold a Master's or Ph.D. level degree in counselling or related field.  The degree granting institution must be recognized and accredited by the government.

Working with parents. Parents may want to work directly with an online neurodiversity specialist. You and your consultant will decide together what works best for your situation. Parents can get support with effective parenting strategies or strategies to help their child/youth in school, careers, and day-to-day life.

Do I need to have a diagnosis to benefit from counselling or neurodiversity specialist sessions? No. Anyone can participate, whether you have a diagnosis or not, or whether you are supporting your child or spouse.

How can I get a diagnosis? If you are looking for clarity in your life or for your child, and are wondering if you or your child might require a diagnosis, our psychologists can help assess whether that might be the case. See our assessment services for more information.

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all.  Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle.

The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.
